Sanford Garden Club

The Garden Club of Sanford, Inc. (also known as the Sanford Garden Club (SGC)) was founded in 1926. It exists primarily to further the education of its members and the public in the fields of gardening & horticulture. The SGC depends on the services of a number of unpaid volunteers to keep functioning. If you would like to volunteer your services, we would love to hear from you.

The Sanford Garden Club's voting membership consists of three plant groups:  Jacaranda Circle, Wildflower Circle, and the Seminole Bromeliad and Tropical Plant Society. In addition, other plant clubs and societies meet regularly at the Sanford Garden Club.

SGC provides a low-cost location for plant clubs and societies to have regular meetings. With the commercialization of non-profit gardens, it has become increasingly difficult for plant clubs and societies to find locations to conduct their meetings. The Sanford Garden Club does it best to help fill this void. If your plant club or society is looking for a place to hold its meetings, we would like to hear from you.

In order to provide its facilities to plant clubs and societies at minimal cost, the SGC rents out the facilities at times that it is not being used by plant clubs and societies. The funds it receives from such event rentals are used to defray the cost of maintaining the facilities and make it possible for plant clubs and societies to hold their meetings at the SGC. Information on such event rentals may be found on the Rentals page.
