of the Florida Native Plant Society
Meets the second Monday of the month at 7:00 PM.
On the following Saturday, members and public can attend local field trip. Free to the public.
Established in 2010, the Cuplet Fern Chapter is one of 37 Florida Native Plant Society chapters. Our logo refers to a large fern that is threatened because of habitat loss. Our mission is to promote conservation, preservation and restoration of native plants and their ecological communities. Previous speakers have addressed issues relating to pollinator plants and insects, St. Johns Water Management projects, gopher tortoise health, fungi, native orchids, edible native plants and many others. Field trips have included trips to Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive and to a variety of wilderness areas in Central Florida.
Our members are active at local garden and environmental events, providing free literature, advocating use of native plants in the landscape, and offering opportunities to purchase native plants. The chapter maintains the native plant garden at the Ed Yarborough Nature Center at Geneva Wilderness Area.
